Agile Whole Team Training provides a complete introduction to the principles and practices of Agile and Scrum using hands-on exercises that are done as a cross-functional team. Not only will you learn how to do Scrum, you will also learn about Kanban, a fast-growing methodology that many organizations are using to supplement their Scrum practices.

  • The purpose and structure of Iterations/sprints
  • How to use VelocityBurn-up charts, and burn-down charts to effectively monitor the real health of your project
  • Hands-on: Plan an Agile Release of your product
  • How Unit tests and Refactoring lead to shorter test cycles and better designs
  • How to use Continuous Integration to maximize the benefit of unit tests and refactoring
  • Hands-on: How to run stand-up meetings
  • Hands-on: How to run retrospectives and continuously improve
  • Hands-on: How the concept of one piece flow (aka limited work in progress) prevents gridlock and "mini-waterfall"
  • How Taskboards increase visibility and transparency
  • The Scrum framework (incorporates everything learned so far)
  • The Kanban framework (incorporates everything learned so far)
  • How to mix and match Scrum and Kanban

Instructor

This course is taught by Damon Poole, President of Valtivity and consulting Senior Coach at Eliassen. Damon has taught Agile techniques to nearly a thousand people and is the creator of the Agile Whole Team Training course. He is also a co-founder and past CEO and CTO of AccuRev where he created multiple Jolt Award winning products including AccuRev and AccuWorkflow.
